Stallion Breeding Agreement
THIS Agreement is made on this date ______ between Broken Wishbone Ranch, owners Vic and Michelle Aston and ______________________ owner(s) of mare known as ___________________ Mare to be bred to stallion _____________________ for a one time breeding fee of $_____. Mare will be bred through two cycles and should mare continue not to take mare owners agree to have mare examined by attending veterinarian of their choice or this contract will be void at that time. Mare owners understand there is no live foal guarantee if aged mare (18 and up) and no color guarantee.
Owners of mare to be responsible for all fees associated with breeding of mare including breeding contract and all veterinary fees associated with breeding of mare and/or care of mare while at facility with all fees due and payable at the time mare is picked up.
Owners agree to have mare checked for health and breeding soundness at start of contract by veterinarian and understand this is not guarantee of viable pregnancy.
Owners of mare agree to return mare to facility 18 days after breeding for one week for the purpose of teasing mare to determine if she has taken or have her ultra sounded, their choice. Owners will then have mare palpated at 45 days to confirm (or reconfirm) pregnancy.
Veterinary care is provided by Jack Kibbee DVM or Kim Sargent, DVM.
Owners of facility reserve the right to contact vet should mare appear to require immediate veterinary services and owner of mare be unable to be reached. Owners of mare will be billed directly by veterinarian.
In the event facility is unable to contact me or other emergency contact designated on mare care sheet, and in the opinion of the attending veterinarian, my horse is suffering with terminal illness or injury, the owners of facility have my permission to instruct the attending veterinarian to put my horse down. Owner of horse understands they are responsible for cost of removal of animal should this occur. _______
Owners of mare understand facility will show due diligence in care of mare during breeding and will not be held responsible for death of mare due to accident or illness while at facility.
I agree to hold harmless this facility and its owners from all liability arising from accidents or injuries sustained or caused by me, my relatives or guests, and/or my horse while on or leaving this facility.
I understand and agree to all the above conditions and have read this contract in full in the presence of the owners of this facility before signing. ______
